Activities

There are plenty of things to do in this part of France. During the tourist season there are many organized events such as Dances, Fairs, Exhibitions, Music Weekends and Wine Festivals, most are free to attend. We normally have a Fete Medieval in May, a Brocante Fete in July and the Wine Festival and Art Fete in August amongst others.

Should you wish something more active, Puy L’Eveque has a large open-air swimming pool only 5 minutes away or fishing, canoeing on the nearby river, cycling, horse riding and much more to offer!

For those just wanting sunshine, with good food and wine you will be spoilt for choice.

Swimming

Puy L’Eveque has a very large open swimming pool which is ideal for adults and children alike, open every day and only a 5 minute walk.

Fishing

Puy L’Eveque is situated alongside the River Lot, and is an ideal place for fishing in the slow moving water. The range of fish to be caught is impressive and includes; Carp, Roach, Bream, Pike, Catfish and Perch. This pastime is also very popular with the locals and a license can be obtained in the newsagents.

Canoeing

Canoeing trips are based across the bridge for Puy L’Eveque, on the opposite bank of the river.

Mediatheque (internet )

We have an internet office based on Grand Rue, which is open most days.

Horse Riding

At nearby Lacapelle-Cabanac, we have horse riding which is open all year round, costing approx. 15 € for an hours ride.

Cycling hiring

Cycling holidays are very popular here and many shops hire out cycles. We have a 5-day cycle race with one of the days racing in Puy L’Eveque, usually held in August.

Wine Tasting

Puy L’Eveque has around 30 vineyards in its vicinity; all have free wine tasting on their doorsteps. We also have a wine tasting Fete in August, which starts at 5pm and ends at midnight to sample the wine from miles around!

Markets

No visit to France is complete without seeing one of the local markets. We have our market on Tuesday morning, another in Prayssac, just 5 minutes away on Friday mornings, and the locals usually follow this by having a coffee outside at one of the nearby cafes whilst watching the world go by.

Rambling

The area around here is ideal for rambling at all levels of activity. Most of the locals walk for hours each day as the weather is mild and the scenery fabulous.

Beaches

We have a number of man-made beaches and shallow water for children with activity centres attached within 20 minutes drive, ideal for families.

Brochures

We have a large supply of leaflets for whatever your wish to visit, whether a Chateau, formal box gardens to visit, prehistoric caves, vineyards, churches, souvenir shops etc .
